An image is drawn directly on a piece of copper plate using a variety of sharp tools. The plate is covered with ink then wiped clean, leaving ink in the etched marks. Damp paper is placed on top of the plate which is run through a press. This transfers the ink to the paper. Once it is dry I apply layers of watercolor wash.
